FDR Library, originally uploaded by idblog. My knee wasn’t up to the quarter-mile walk to FDR’s house (Springwood), so I made due tooling around the supporting buildings, including this, the FDR Library, which (according to them) is the first of the presidential libraries.

Culinary Institute of America, originally uploaded by idblog. The wide angle of the BB curve camera made this shot hard to get, but this is downhill from the main building and terrace at CIA in Hyde Park. Their campus is amazing. Inn on the Falls, originally uploaded by idblog. The back terrace of the B&B I stayed at last nite. The room is far more modest than at the Tarrytown House, tho the rates are similar. (Resending for the bazillionth time.)

Cold Spring, NY, originally uploaded by idblog. This is a terrific waterfront area on the Hudson, complete with charming village. Would be very peaceful, save for the thirty or so kids doing some kind of summer camp right here.

Lyndhurst, originally uploaded by idblog. Not owned by the Roosevelts, Rockefellers or Vanderbilts, but still an amazing grand house on the Hudson.

Tarrytown House, originally uploaded by idblog. View out the back of the lobby. I can see the Hudson from the hallway, but not from my room. But the price point is much better than the Castle. (Resending)

Castle on the Hudson entrance, originally uploaded by idblog. Here’s where I’m not staying, as the cheapest rate was over $400 if I recall. But it’s on the top of a hill and you can see it coming into Tarrytown.
