I’ve been a fan of Darya Rose’s (formerly Darya Pino) Summer Tomato blog for quite some time. I’ve often linked to her Intact Grains vs. Whole Grains post as a (IMO) valuable and moderate view in the whole carbs/grains discussion.
She’s recently published Foodist, which I’m in the process of reading. I was originally concerned that this was just another “eat healthy foods” nutritionist book, but so far I’m cautiously optimistic that what’s in the book reflects the need for some of us to eat food for reasons other than nutrients.
Yesterday, Rose published the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Foodists. They include:
- Never diet
- Shop for groceries regularly
- Cook at home
- Take 10,000 steps per day
- Chew thoroughly
- Make value-based decisions
- Monitor your progess
These all look pretty useful to me! Be sure to read her full post for her rationale.
BTW, I just dropped a chunk of change on Modernist Cuisine at Home today on my quest to increase my “cook at home” cred ;).
