Watch the talk that the PR firm Fleishman-Hillard decided the food industry didn’t need to hear at an Ontario Medical Association breakfast last week:

This blog is the story of one woman's journey to understand the rising rates of obesity and apply it in her own efforts to lose weight. The information and opinions provided here are believed to be accurate and sound, but readers who fail to consult appropriate health authorities assume the risk of any injuries.
Weight Maven is written by Beth Mazur. Beth believes that obesity is more symptom than cause and that the real problem is our Western diet -- especially sugar, refined grains, and industrial oils. Beth writes about nutrition, ancestral health, & food policy. And cats!
Dr. Freedhoff said, “We need to level the playing field. There really aren’t any shortages of things we can do to regulate the food industry’s practice of misinforming consumers.”
The food industry has gotten away with misinforming consumers for many decades because it first figured out how to misinform academia. Of necessity, politicians rely upon experts. When the vast majority of experts are misinformed, public policy gets shaped accordingly.

Great video, Beth. Thanks for posting it. I put it up on my FaceBook home page. I hope others do too.
Fantastic video, It’s too bad they didn’t let him present it, but I’m glad he posted it for others to see. I will share this video too.
